Wedding planning is a whirlwind of choices. Here at Snyder Entertainment, we know this, but we are on a constant mission to make things easier for you. Because of this, we’re answering 10 of our most frequently asked questions today, to help you in your planning process!

1. How has COVID-19 altered your services? We have put in place some additional safety and health precautions to ensure that each of our clients feels as safe as possible. One major example of this is limiting the sharing of microphones as much as possible, or sanitizing microphones between toasts, speeches, etc. We are also highly flexible! If your venue has specific parameters they are following surrounding the pandemic, or you personally have some concerns you would like us to honor, we are more than happy to do whatever it takes to keep everyone safe and healthy.

2.    Are your DJs experienced in working weddings?  There is a difference for DJs in working a wedding versus a night club, so this is a great question. It’s important that you have a DJ who is at ease on a microphone, can follow a timeline, and communicates with you as the bride or groom often before the big day. We are proud of the level of experience that our team of DJs has here. We also participate in professional MC development as a team to make sure that we are constantly growing and learning more about how to perfect our craft. You will always get a DJ from us who is highly experienced!

3.    How do you customize the music experience for each couple? Can you help with song lists and providing suggestions? Your wedding playlist should be completely customized to your event. It’s your wedding day soundtrack. Snyder Entertainment offers couples their own online planner account where they can create and edit different music lists during the months leading up to the wedding. You can choose your must-plays, your do NOT plays, your special dance songs, and more. If that sounds overwhelming to you, let your DJ know a handful of your favorite songs, and they certainly can help you fill in the gaps!

4.     How do you get the crowd pumped? If you’ve got a shy crowd at your wedding, you will need a DJ who can get your guests on the dance floor. There are several different techniques on how to get your dance party started, and a great DJ knows how to read the room. This goes hand-in-hand with experience. Because all of our DJs are so highly trained and have worked weddings for years, they have acquired the skills needed to transition on the fly to get the crowd going.

5.     How do you handle song requests? This is where that planning portal comes in handy! All of your time before the wedding day making song selections provides a way for the DJ to really get to know you well! Any song that a guest requests could be on your “do not play” list, “must play” list, or “play only if requested”. If it’s in one of those places, then the DJ automatically knows how to respond to your guest. If the song requested didn’t make it on any of your lists, your DJ will know if it makes sense for the vibe of the evening or not. Either way, the goal is for you and your DJ to have had enough communication leading up to your wedding that he can navigate random song requests and know if they align with your style and taste!

6.     What kind of reviews do you all have? There are a few places where you can see reviews by real brides and grooms! Check out Wedding Wire, The Knot, and Facebook for a great collection of feedback from our couples!

7.     Have you played at our chosen wedding venue before? If not, can you make a site visit beforehand? We have been working in venues in and outside of Nashville for over a decade, so chances are good that we know your venue and can help answer additional questions you may have about the sound system already available there, or the best placement of the DJ booth. If not, site visits are common practice for us, and we are happy to walk through your venue with you or your planner!

8.     Do we have our choice of DJs to select from, or is one automatically assigned to us depending on date availability? Because we believe in high quality DJs over quantity, you can rest assured that you will have a great experience with any member of our team. We assign DJs primarily based on availability, and you have multiple opportunities to chat with them on the phone, via email, in person, or whatever your preferences are!

9. When will I meet my DJ? Because we assign based on availability, we allow each of our lead DJs up until approximately three months out from your wedding date to clear their schedule and commit to that booking. You will hear directly from your DJ shortly after that. We find that it works best to wait a little bit, because as you get a couple of months away from the wedding date, you have your timeline mapped out, and you and your DJ have plenty to discuss! And remember, as you wait for that initial contact, you are selecting the music that you will want to hear throughout the night!

10.     What other services do you offer? (lighting, photo booth, etc.) Why hire multiple companies for different needs when your DJ could provide some of those services for you? Snyder Entertainment offers lighting design, photo boothsphotography, videography, yard games, and so much more! We bundle these services into packages to save you money, and eliminate stress. Reach out to us to learn about these packages!
