Here's The Secret To Wow-ing Your Guests at Your Next Nashville Event!

For the longest time I could not understand why clients would hire myself or any of our team members and NOT use our lighting services. Event lighting is very under-rated, when it's one of the aspects of an event that can make it over-the-top awesome! For me personally, I actually think the lighting is really what people notice first. I rarely have people come up to me after any event and comment on the clarity of my music library, the deep bass in my subs or anything of that nature. Every single time we provide our lighting services, even entry level options, we have people comment on how the venue looked.

After doing this for over a decade, I have realized that many of our clients simply do not know what lighting can do for their event. The goal of this post is to highlight and show off some of the different styles of lighting we offer and you can use them for your special event.

Monogram Lighting

Monogram lighting is a very specific pattern/template that has been cut out in advance and will project onto a wall, floor or any other appropriate location. Typically in weddings we see the date, initials and maybe a design. Our team can custom create any design or we can set you up with any of our professionally designed templates. For corporate events we tend to notice more logos or themes. Same for our Bar/Bat-Mitzvah clients. The Snyder Entertainment team uses all LED lighting and can add color to those monogram lights with extreme ease. From time to time you will hear people ask for a gobo light. The gobo is the piece inside the light that makes your monogram light projection. Just an FYI if you hear multiple people/vendors tossing out multiple names for the same item.

Dance Lighting/Special Event Lighting

This style of lighting sounds so self explanatory but I would caution you it can come in a multitude of formats and YES, we can assist with all of them. The most popular setting we see is to be used as event decor lighting. My definition of that is we are simply illuminating (with battery powered lights) furniture, walls and the dance floor with very specific colors. Those objects are traditionally one static color until the event “kicks in” and then they will all change or “jump” to the music…all in sync. It’s a very cool feeling for your guests and I guarantee you it separates your event from the next event. Anyone can simply light your walls, but it takes professionals to control all of those lights remotely and create an atmosphere…WE CAN DO THAT!

String Lighting

String lighting is beautiful and can fit nearly every style. Often times you will hear this referred to as Italian Street lighting…just know that industry people call it “festoon lighting“. This one gets a tad tricky from time to time as you simply have to find somewhere to hang or wrap the lights and it needs to be sturdy. Anytime you drape over the crowd of your guests you cannot skirt the corners on ensuring those lights stay above your guests. Traditionally most people charge per foot of lights. Additional cost to be expected can be labor (it can be intensive), and additional poles needed for support. Simple light, many effective uses. Make sure it comes with a dimmer. We can also provide this style of lighting.

Uplighting

Without hesitation, this is our most requested style of lighting. Again, personal opinion is that this is almost a requirement at events. It can play off your table colors or dress colors if you are planning a wedding. The lights can match your corporate colors. As described earlier, they can all stay static one color and we program some or all of the lights to dance with the music to set off the party. We have well over 100 fixtures in our inventory to fit any event. We use battery powered lights, traditional powered lights and a variety of other style to ensure we match your vision. This is the quickest and easiest style of lighting to add to your event…a small add on for a big payoff.

Our team is always available to talk by phone or meet in person to discuss with you how we can partner together. I typically stay away from things I do not understand as well…do not let lighting be one of those topics. We will walk you through the process and help you create a truly incredible experience!
